Thomas Hart Benton (1889 – 1975), The Station, 1929, lithograph, signed, titled and numbered 50/100 in pencil on Rives, published by Delphic Studios, New York, 5 7/8″ x 6 1/4″, sheet size 11 3/8″ x 15 7/8″. Provenance: Purchased from the artist in April 1966 by Creekmore Fath. Exhibited: Austin, Texas, The Archer M. Huntington Art Gallery, College of Fine Arts, The University of Texas at Austin, The Fath Collection: Selected prints from the United States and Mexico, 1915 – 1950, May 15 – July 6, 1986, no. 4. C The Creekmore and Adele Fath Charitable Foundation Collection. Sold at Doyle’s, New York, November 8, 2011, #100. Condition: Pale matstain, pinholes at sheet edges at center of top and bottom sheet edges, some ink in the margins and verso, some old glue residue with associated light abrasion in the top margin, a few unobtrusive specks of old glue residue in the left and right margins, some unobtrusive handling creases, a 5/16 inch tear at bottom sheet edge, otherwise in good condition, with full margins, framed.
