Diminutive cherry Queen Anne high chest in two parts, upper section with flat top over four graduated drawers on base with three short drawers with cyma carved skirt on tall cabriole legs ending in pad feet brasses changes and two drawers chipped. ht. 63 1/2in. upper section wd. 31 3/4in. lower section 34in. Provenance: Phelps-Brown Family, Windsor, Connecticut Note: bottom drawer of upper case signed Johsua Case Simsbury 1761 Ruth case married Eli Phelps of Windsor CT, circa 1775. According to family tradition a high chest was made for her by a relative, possibly her cousin, Simsbury Joiner Joshua Case 1723-1778
