Famille Verte Porcelain Fang Ding, China, Kangxi 18th century or later, four-legged vessel in the shape of classic archaic bronze, characteristically decorated with central cartouche of yellow and aubergine flowers surrounded by green diamond-shaped border, inside four-character spurious but reverential mark on base reading “ta Ming nien chih” (made in the reign of Ming), with custom open-work wooden top and carved fungus finial, height 5 3/4 inches, length 6 1/2 inches, Provenance: From Collection in Irvington, New York.
