French Ptolemaic Armillary sphere with beechwood base, pasteboard rings, and brass covered with engraved and varnished paper, the whole is turned on a single stem stalk and raised on a circular base carrying a horizontal ring with four supports engraved with various longitudes and latitudes. the horizontal rings have zodiacal calendars with pictorial representations of the signs of the zodiac and into this slots the free to rotate meridian ring carrying a four quadrant degree scale, late 18th to 19th century.
