Pair of Queen Anne side chairs each with rush seats and bold turned stretchers set on turned legs ending in pad feet, circa 1740, each chair with printed tag beneath seat discussing the chair and stating: This chair of a N.Y. State type one of a pair purchased from Mrs. Catherine Curtis of CT from the Old Homestead at Putnam Ct of Gen. Israel Putnam of the Battle of Bunker Hill of June 17, 1775 and probably this chair was used by him in his CT home.
