Rare Linder breech loading percussion Mississippi rifle, originally manufactured by Robbins and Lawrence at their Windsor, Vermont factory in 1850, The Linder Breech loading alteration was done by Allen and Morse of Boston, MA. This is 1 of the 100 guns that was contracted by the state of Massachusetts to Allen and Morse, in which they removed the rear section of the barrel forward of the breech and replaced it with a rotating sleeve of Linder’s patent. Marked Patented Mar. 29 1859. The original bolster nipple now pivots to except combustible cartridge, some condition issues with this gun but this is one of the original 100 made in 1859.
