This figure was used only one other known time, in the upper section of the Charles and Isabella Steele McLaughlin Hays Memorial Window in the First Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, PA (1905)
The figure was designed by Frederick Wilson head of the Tiffany Studio’s Ecclesiastical Department and the primary designer of figurative windows. The face is typical of his work, the angel is made up of great examples of drapery and feather glass in the gown and wings. Multiple layers provide subtle, shifting colors making the gown nacreous. The use of spring green as the main color of the wings is striking and unusual.
