Luis Mora sight size: 19 1/4 x 9 1/4 Frederick Baker label on verso A very rare Orientalist painting by one of Connecticuts favorite early 20th century artists.This painting was painted on one of Moras trips to Spain to visit his extended family in the first years of the last century.Mora often liked to paint what was popular at the time he visited Spain.In later years he even dressed like a 8th century Spanish painter when he painted in his Connectiicut studio.In 1910 Mora had a one man show at the Watercolor Club of New York.This painting was in that exhibit and is the only Orientalist painting he seems to have painted.
