Large Bronze Seated Figure of Bixia Yuanjun, also known as Taishan Niangniang, Daoist goddess of the dawn, destiny and childbirth, with her three phoenix headdress and holding her scepter, she is purported to govern human life span, judges the dead and heads the pleas of children in need, she is northern China’s equivalent to the bodhisattva Guanyin, Goddess of Mercy, height 14 inches.
