Windsor, CT, May 22, 2024 – Nadeau’s Auction Gallery is excited to announce the opening of its newly created Fine Art Department. This stand alone division features state of the art storage, security, and display components and is located within the company’s easily accessible Windsor, CT campus.  It will offer consignors specialized fine art related services, access to the company’s global roster of qualified, interested, and active buyers, and white glove treatment.

 

This expansion, over a year in planning, comes at an exciting time at Nadeau’s. Nadeau’s teams have recently handled several large corporate art collections, successfully managing complex and high value sales with clients from all over the country. Demand for high-end, fine art auction services has skyrocketed, with Nadeau’s currently preparing several thousand examples for sale later this year. And, the company has been growing significantly across the board, with especially strong results generated within the fine arts categories. Within the last few months, the company sold Asher Brown Durand’s (American 1796-1874) Landscape with Rocks and Stream for $24,320; William Wheeler’s (American 1832-1893) after Thomas Cole (English 1801-1848) Mount Etna from Taormina for $17,920; and Seymour Fogel’s (American 1911-1984) Abstract in Black, Red and White for $16,640. 

 

Nadeau’s Auction Gallery’s new Fine Art Division is scheduled to open  its doors to the public on June 6th, where items from the company’s June 8th, 2024 signature Premier Art Auction will be on preview. This auction is showcasing The collection of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP, a former American law firm, founded in 1876 and based in New York City, with offices also in Los Angeles, Miami and Washington, DC. Highlights from this sale include Ellsworth Kelly’s (American 1923-2015) Four Panels which is estimated at $5,000-10,000; ten Eliot Porter (American 1901-1990) dye transfer prints from his Intimate Landscapes suite which are estimated at $7,000-10,000; and Jon Schueler’s  (American 1916-1992) #903 which is estimated at $10,000-20,000.
